Dear DGMC Members and Friends,
I hope you are enjoying our Sunday “webconcert” programs. You can connect to our concerts from our DGMC website. The most recent concert (Louise Kelly’s “What a Night, No Stars“ ) can be accessed from the homepage by scrolling down to UPCOMING EVENTS. All available concerts can be accessed by clicking the See all concerts button under UPCOMING EVENTS, or by selecting Concerts & events from the top menu of our website. Or, better yet, when you’ve finished listening to the current video, simply scroll down and access all previous performances from there.
We’ve had a slight change to the original schedule posted in our last newsletter. Saxophonist Dan Moroz has a new composition that is a bit on eerie side and thus perfect for Halloween. So this Sunday, October 25th, we will be hearing Dan performing “Anomalous Liquidity.”
Here’s the line-up for the first three Sundays in November:
November 1st — Spirito! Singers, featuring their Ragazze (5th – 8th grade) and Bravura (9th – 12th grade) Ensembles.
Here is a good chance to hear these talented girls from the western Chicagoland area.
November 8 — Sarah Flanagan, performing Chopin’s Polonaise in C sharp minor and Nocturne in B major
It’s so good to hear from our former DGMC member who moved to Kentucky 4 years ago.
November 15— The Korbitz family, sharing music they performed in the spring to raise money for musicians who had lost their jobs due to Covid-19.
What a treat to hear violinist Amelia Korbitz, who won both a Rising Star and College Music Award, as she plays two selections – the first with her father, Ron and the second with her mother Angela.
Happy Viewing and please stay safe!
