News & developments

Our July 2020 newsletter is available

Dear Friend of the Downers Grove Music Club,

Our latest newsletter (July 2020) is now available. It is notable for a couple of reasons: it is the first newsletter published since the Covid-19 outbreak, and it is also our final newsletter of the 2019-2020 club year. While our 2019-2020 season ended on a silent note, our board continues to work remotely to strengthen music arts development in the community. We are very appreciative of our many members who have already renewed, as well as the generous donations we have received. Your steadfast support during these challenging times has enabled us to meet 100% of our student program support goals during the 2019-2020 club year. Read our latest newsletter for all the details about this unique club season in our 93 year history.

Note from President

As we have all been challenged by the events of the last several months, I would like to assure you that the DGMC has been working behind the scenes as much as possible to continue the good work of supporting music in the community. The DGMC may have been somewhat silenced but it is as strong as ever and looking toward the future.

2020 Spring House Concert

DELAYED DUE TO COVID-19 OUTBREAK

DGMC is hosting the Spring House Benefit Concert on March 20, 2020, the second of our two fundraising events this season. It features a lovely evening of live music and delicious refreshments in the intimate setting of a private home. All proceeds are dedicated to funding the Student Music Awards. DGMC January newsletter available

Dear Friend of the Downers Grove Music Club,

We have lots of DGMC activities coming up in the new year.  Please read the new January newsletter for full details.

I’d like to note two events coming up soon:

  • February 7th is the deadline for registering students in the Piano Festival & Competition
  • Sunday, February 9th at 2:00 pm is our next program at the DG library.  If you’re getting tired of winter, this is the place to go for a Winter Interlude.
